The 2024 South African elections saw the African National Congress (ANC) fall short of a majority. The way forward is not clear cut. What is evident is that the people have spoken; there is a need for effective leadership, and a stable government to serve the people’s interests. The questions in many circles are – where to from here? Do we have the much-needed political and ideological tolerance to build trust and take the country to its next phase of democracy?
