On an ordinary morning at a daycare centre, three-year-old Samuel discovers the devastating power of the news. In an instant, he changes from a carefree child into an exhausted little “adult”, burdened by tragic headlines and the heavy fate of humanity. Crybaby is an absurd tragicomedy about the toll of a greedy world falling apart. At the same time, it is a love letter to childhood and a sharp reminder: growing up is no child’s play.

A ten-year-old girl accidentally discovers she had a sister who died two years before she was born. That girl was the French writer Annie Ernaux, who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2022. Suddenly, Annie was no longer an only child, but the replacement for a great absence that lives on in her parents’ wordless sadness. Her sister had to die so that she could live as the “replacement”. A delicate piece about guilt, family, and loss.

Babs tried to wash the memories clean, yet the dust storms of the past keep catching up with her. Their remembering takes the audience on an imaginative journey where boundaries begin to blur.

Centuries after being cast out of paradise, Adam and Eve reflect on marriage: it wasn’t easy being the original couple, you know? Everything had to be figured out for the first time: love, children, and running a household. Now that their youngest is about to leave home, Adam and Eve have only each other for company again. After much good and bad, they have one last bone to pick with each other – a comedy about growing old together, especially when one owes the other a rib.
