Om te Val is a compelling physical theatre piece that follows Miriam as she grows up with locked-in syndrome after a near-drowning on Christmas Day, 1996. She is forever trapped within her own thoughts. To the outside world, she appears vegetative, but her inner world is full of life. Within this intimate landscape, the production explores vulnerability, resilience, and the need to be seen. Martin van Heerden’s choreography and an enchanting soundscape gently draw the audience into Miriam’s world.
