As we get older, most people tend to (conveniently) start forgetting certain things. And it’s usually the things we don’t want to remember. The things we want to remember over time get all kinds of “embellishments”. A half-truth in the 50s becomes an accepted fact 50 years later. A shaggy-dog story gets blow-dried into a magnificent “beehive,” and a drunken “one-night stand” years later turns into a beautiful, fleeting romance.
