Experience the dynamic world of Raku, a traditional Japanese pottery technique that celebrates the elements of clay, fire, water, and air. Known for dramatic processes and striking effects, it transforms pottery through heat, cooling, and smoke. In this four-hour workshop, participants decorate two pre-fired pots – one glazed, and one for fire drawing with organic materials. They witness red-hot pieces removed from the kiln and transformed through smoke. After cooling and cleaning, each person leaves with their unique ceramics. Gain firsthand insight into Raku’s spontaneity, energy, and creative magic.
