A prayer to all my Azanians
A prayer to all my Azanian’s, an original play in English and Sesotho, is a one-act satirical play inspired by Guy Butler’s poem A prayer to all my countrymen, written in the 1960s when apartheid was in full force. In post-apartheid South Africa, many people are losing hope due to socioeconomic issues. Young people even drop out of school because of uncertainties. This play sees prayer, like Butler did, as giving hope to our present and future leaders who are disgruntled about their situation.
