Corlia Fourie gained recognition for her writing across various genres: dramas (published, but also for the stage, radio, and television), works for adults, and numerous children’s and youth stories, in which she mainly creates action-packed texts through fantasy and develops and renovates material from African fairy tales. She has received several prestigious awards for her pioneering work in this field, including the M E R Award, the Tienie Holloway Medal, an honourable mention at the Noma Prize awards, and the Alba Bouwer Prize. Tintinyani, with music by Peter Klatzow, was performed in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Bloemfontein. She also writes novels and short prose for adults and contributes journalistic work to magazines.
