The Ugly Noo Noo
In 1988, Andrew Buckland, directed by his wife Janet, created the one-man show The Ugly Noo Noo, which transformed South African theatre. The piece tells of a man’s encounter with the notorious Parktown prawn in Johannesburg’s suburbs. With sharp satire and side-splitting comedy, a powerful performance, and unique stage presence, it takes audiences on a journey through the dark underworld of suburban life and examines the relationship between fear and power. It received 17 national and international awards.
Netphlix
Netphlix is a fast-paced, high-energy satire of online streaming giants. Sophie Joans, an award-winning theatre-maker and comedian, uses improvisation, physical theatre, comedy, and sketches to bring your favourite online series to life. With only a handful of props and a single chair, she invites audience members to become part of the chaos on stage.

Tring–tring! Hello? Are you talking on your smartphone? Or through a shoe? It doesn’t matter. You can call someone you miss – after all, it’s the same stars hanging above all of us. This production, specially developed for audience members aged 4 months to 5 years, is an ode to the landline and a story about connection. From a very young age, we have a deep-rooted need to communicate, and theatre is the ideal place to explore this even further!
Ticket Information: Each ticket admits one adult (parent/guardian) and one baby or toddler (under 6 years of age). A separate ticket must be purchased for each additional baby or toddler attending the performance.
Example: One adult with one child requires one ticket. One adult with two children requires two tickets.
Bahumi and his Magical Voice
Bahumi and His Magical Voice is a heartfelt theatre production for young audiences that celebrates the boy child and the power of emotional expression. When Bahumi discovers that his voice can transform the world around him, he helps his friends see that true strength lies in kindness, honesty, and courage. Starring Katleho Mabote (Showmax, Outlaws) in the lead role, the play challenges harmful ideas about masculinity and creates a safe space for boys to speak, feel, and be heard.

A young boy has to hold the whole world! And even though he’s afraid, he is willing to learn everything about growing up. On this colourful adventure, he learns the importance of imagination, friendship, and being brave. Come see how we dance with the moon, play hide-and-seek with the stars – and a giant bird. After the performance, we invite everyone onto the stage to play with the puppets and the set!

Are you a murderer? No? Are you sure? Yes? Okay, have you known someone who took their own life? You know, you might be a murderer. With a style inspired by the theatre of cruelty, it’s graphic, dark, and immersive. Pleading for people to be more careful in how they treat individuals, this is a showcase of consequences. Om te Val is a compelling physical theatre piece that follows Miriam as she grows up with locked-in syndrome after a near-drowning on Christmas Day, 1996. She is forever trapped within her own thoughts. To the outside world, she appears vegetative, but her inner world is full of life. Within this intimate landscape, the production explores vulnerability, resilience, and the need to be seen. Martin van Heerden’s choreography and an enchanting soundscape gently draw the audience into Miriam’s world.

It starts as a night of fun, but turns into something foggy. So yes, they drank, danced, and got “cosy”. But what happens when Amber claims she said “Actually, um …”?
