THE SHACK is a film about a shack standing in the heart of a densely populated South African informal settlement. Here, hardship is part of everyday life. The shack reveals the struggles Buti faces each day: the uncertainty of scarce income, the constant search for water, the strain of inadequate sanitation, the lack of better job opportunities, and the daily challenge of finding proper, sufficient food. Within these fragile walls, survival itself becomes an act of endurance.
