“When you lose a child, you live in two different worlds, but you don’t exist in either.” On 16 November 2021, Jannie and Ronel du Plessis lost their 10-month-old son, Jan-Nataniël, in a drowning accident. Ronel now sees their swimming pool as a sacred space – the last place he was alive and where she still feels his presence, suspended between heaven and earth. This documentary captures the Du Plessis family’s vulnerability and mourning, exploring how people come to terms with loss and how a single day can irrevocably change a life.
