Vivaldi en die Vondeling

Die uitsonderlike lewe van Anna Maria della Pietà
OFM-Odeion
Afrikaans
60 min

Anna Maria della Pietà was Venice’s child prodigy. By the age of eight, she was already a gifted violinist and composer, and at twelve, the youngest first violinist of the Ospedale della Pietà’s convent orchestra. A foundling, the child of a prostitute, she survived a vulnerable beginning. Her teacher was the brilliant, eccentric Antonio Vivaldi, who dedicated 28 violin concertos to her. This small masterpiece tells of her remarkable rise to become a sought-after Maestra di violino and Maestra di coro.
